At last

Here are the classfiles from last week.

Suggested Exercises

Play with particle systems... try to wrap your head around the gravity example...

Try to think of a good application for the xpos, ypos, xspeed, yspeed model that we've been playing with... you saw how we applied it to the character and the enemies... try to think of something else you could use it for.

Second Class

Homework:

There are a couple choices. For those of you guys that work at SOM I understand if you don't have time to complete the homework. For those of you who don't work at SOM I expect to see something from you.

1) Work on a personal project .... so if you don't want to play with the pong engine you can play with the rain file or work on your personal website etc...

2) Try to port the pong engine to use movieClips from the library... instead of the dynmacally generated clips done with the drawing API

3) Try to program the game "Breakout" -- something like this would work... doesn't have to be exactly the same BREAKOUT!

(if you have time do more than one of the 3 choices)

FIRST CLASS

Homework:

The homework this week is real simple. Just take some time to review the class files and formulate questions.

Class Format:

Next week I'll be starting a slightly different class format: 2 hours of tutorials and 2 hours on "One on One" - I will review and answer questions about each students work. If a topic comes up that is relevant to the entire class I will do an on the fly demo for those interested.
